For the 2026–2027 school year, we have organized the Arrival Days Experience into three distinct cohorts: general arrivals, invited preseason athletes, and invited student leaders. During the first week of school, we are also hosting a new offsite overnight freshman orientation for the Class of 2030.
Preseason Athletes

Sun. September 6
Invited student-athletes are strongly encouraged to attend preseason. It includes daily practice sessions, team dinners, group activities, and cross-training. By invitation only.
Student Leaders

Invited student leaders are strongly encouraged to attend this leadership weekend. This program gives senior leaders an opportunity to begin shaping Pomfret's community and culture for the coming year. By invitation only.

Regular arrivals comprise the majority of our student body. Unless you are an invited preseason athlete or an invited student leader, you should plan to arrive on this day. This includes day students.

Freshman Overnight Experience
A unique offsite bonding activity for the Class of 2030.
What: Freshman Orientation, Experiential Education, Culture Building
When: Tue. September 8 – Wed. September 9
Where: June Norcross Webster Scout Reservation Camp | Ashford, CT
This year all third formers will participate in a Freshman Overnight Experience during the first week of school at the June Norcross Webster Scout Reservation Camp in nearby Ashford, CT.
This unique experience is part of a larger freshman orientation period,
which takes place Monday, September 7 - Friday, September 11.
