We recognize the enormity of our responsibility to create a safe and healthy community, and we wish to do everything we can both to ensure that our students have great experiences and to support any for whom this was not the case during their time at Pomfret. Our doors and our ears are open, and we stand prepared to help.

Support and Treatment
Any member of the Pomfret Community who was impacted by sexual misconduct while a student at Pomfret is welcome to contact the Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Eastern Connecticut, Inc. for support. This organization is a leading resource in the state and also able to make referrals to organizations outside of Connecticut. In an effort to support our alumni community Pomfret School will make services available to alumni in need at no cost. We recognize that the pain and trauma for victims of sexual misconduct is real and lasting. We also recognize that these emotions were felt by friends and family members of victims as well. We hope that those in our community who suffered harm will accept our profound and heartfelt apology on behalf of the School.

Independent Investigator

Alumni with information to share regarding sexual misconduct are encouraged to contact Chris Brigham at the law firm Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, who is an independent investigator with extensive expertise and experience. If you have information of which you feel the School should be aware, regarding sexual abuse by faculty, staff, or students while you were at Pomfret, please contact either Head of School Tim Richards at / 860-963-6113 or Mr. Brigham at / 203-786-8310.
