W.P. Carey Speaker

This year's speaker is Peter Wilson, the deputy dean of admissions and chief of staff at the University of Chicago. He will be on the Hilltop to speak with parents and students on Friday, October 19.

Wilson knows Pomfret well, having served as UChicago's New England representative when he was beginning his admissions career. When invited to speak with our community, he said, "I am excited to give back to the many excellent Pomfret students and families I have met over the years." UChicago made headlines this past June when they announced they were no longer requiring domestic applicants to submit ACT or SAT scores. They are the first top research university in the country to do so.

The W.P. Carey ’48 College Admission Lecture Series occurs every year on this weekend. This lecture series, endowed by William Polk Carey '48, brings a representative from a prestigious college or university admissions office to address students, parents, and faculty about the college admissions process. Offering the latest perspectives on the process, these lectures have proven to be a valuable tool for Pomfret students during their college search.
