Virtual Family Weekend
Look what the fall blew in.
This year Family Weekend is going digital. In the lead up to Pomfret's first-ever virtual Family Weekend, our teachers have been busy crafting introductory videos, like this one, to help parents put a face with a name — and to offer unique insight into their child's classroom experience.
On Wednesday (10/21) and Thursday (10/22), parents are invited and encouraged to meet with their student's advisor. "These meetings are a good time to have important conversations," says Don Gibbs, the assistant head of school at Pomfret.
As usual, parent-teacher conferences will take place on Friday (10/23) and Saturday (10/24), but in a departure from previous years, they will be reserved for parents who need to discuss specific issues related to student performance. This year, senior parents also have the option to meet with their child's college counselor. Advisor and college counselor appointments are 20 minutes. Teacher appointments are 10 minutes, and can only be scheduled in consultation with your child's advisor.

Beyond conferences, we are also excited to offer an exceptional lineup of webinars, including an informative State of the School presentation by Head of School Tim Richards P ’15, a highly anticipated talk by the Vice President and Dean of Admission & Financial Aid at Davidson College Christopher Gruber, an arts immersion presentation for freshman parents, and our ever popular college application workshop for junior parents.
