In 2013, Pomfret announced its vision for the future. Called The Pomfret Purpose, the new strategic plan was a watershed moment in the life of the School. Uncharacteristically bold for a stodgy New England boarding school, the plan sought to reimagine every facet of the Pomfret Experience. “For young people to flourish in a changing world, we must prepare them wisely, differently, and well,” said Head of School Tim Richards at the time. “This will likely represent a significant change in how we currently operate. Seven years later, the change has come. These are the results.
