Yoga On and Off the Mat

This holistic class integrates yoga movement, mindfulness, breathwork, and self-inquiry to better transfer the principles, skills, lessons, and tools practiced on the yoga mat into life off the mat. In addition to the regular physical practice of yoga and mindfulness, this course will utilize articles and other scientific research to promote the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of yoga.  Through guided reflection and journaling, students will deepen their self-awareness, discover practical tools for emotional regulation, and learn strategies for managing stress and improving their overall wellbeing.  Through the physical practice of yoga, students will begin to appreciate the yoga wisdom: “Yoga is not about touching your toes, it is about what you learn on the way down" (Jigar Go).
