Geometry

Geometry focuses first on a review of the fundamental concepts covered in Algebra to ensure a strong algebraic base that will be used throughout the rest of the year.  This is followed by the core concepts of Geometry including work with segments, angles, areas, volumes, and many other figures.  These are learned through problems requiring calculations as well as through proofing statements with a set of given information.  Students will be provided with repeatable problem sets to ensure understanding of the concepts.  Students will also be given worked examples and explanations that support students in better understanding both the concept being taught and how to build an accurate process to get to a solution.  Upon completion of Geometry, students should be prepared to start Algebra II the following year.
