Algebra I

The large focus of Algebra I is ensuring that the students leave the course with a strong foundation in mathematics.  They will start their work with real numbers and order of operations and progress into algebra topics that include solving and graphing linear equations, working with absolute values, working with systems of equations, understanding the properties of exponents, and solving and graphing quadratic equations.   Successful completion of this course provides a firm foundation in algebra and the tools needed to proceed through the Pomfret mathematics curriculum, but more specifically to a Geometry course in the following year.
