The Advanced Topics in Mathematics covers material that is not typically covered in Pomfret's other calculus courses. Topics include: Centroids, Center of Mass, Second Moment of Inertia, Pressure and work done in pumping fluids. Double and triple integrals are explored in rectangular, polar, cylindrical and spherical coordinate systems. Other topics might include Green's Theorem, Stokes' Theorem and classical proofs of Archimedes and Euclid. Other more modern problems from Euler, Newton and other similar mathematicians are typically explored.

Departmental approval is required for this course.
