ADV Gender and American Society

This course explores American history, culture, and politics through the lens of gender. Using gender as a framework for analysis, students will engage with case studies, scholarly texts, and examine both past and contemporary events to better understand how gender shapes social institutions, historical narratives, and lived experiences. The course incorporates methodologies from multiple disciplines, including history, political science, education studies, sociology, and anthropology.

This course is open to juniors and seniors, by recommendation. Departmental approval is required for this course.
