Acting: Directing

This introductory course gives students the opportunity to explore the comprehensive role of the director as creative lead. Students will analyze a script, develop an artistic vision for a mock production and practice communicating that vision to designers through “inspo” research. Students will learn how directors prepare for rehearsal by exploring composition theory, beat analysis and staging notation. Finally, each student will exercise their leadership, communication and visual literacy skills by directing their peers in a scene from their mock production.
