Virtual Campus Tours

Join one of our Key Heads and a member of our Advancement team for a live guided video tour of the Hilltop. During this virtual jaunt across campus, you'll visit classrooms, athletic facilities, dorm rooms, performance spaces, and community hubs. Along the way, our friendly tour guide will answer your questions and share what it's like to live and learn at Pomfret in 2021.

Class Time for Alumni

Go back to school with a current member of the Pomfret teaching faculty and experience firsthand what it feels like to be a student at Pomfret today. Choose from several different courses across a wide range of subject matter:

Literature in Translation: Nabokov & Pushkin

If Shakespeare is the quintessence of English authors and Dante the favorite son of Italy, Pushkin is similarly held in high esteem in Russia. Vladimir Nabokov penned a double-sonnet that focuses on the challenges of translating Pushkin for the western world. Join Todd Matthew, English Department Head, as we read these twenty-eight lines while also looking at a stanza from Pushkin's novel in prose, Eugene Onegin.

Honors Global Sustainable Development

Join History Teacher Patrick Burke as he describes how this course provides an in-depth look at the interdisciplinary field of sustainable development, utilizing historical and recent developments in the social, political, and physical sciences. We'll address the fundamental question of how different countries, communities, and individuals can develop in ways that are socially just and environmentally sustainable, and look at the complex relationships between governments, economies, societies, and the Earth's physical environment.

Engineering: Science by Design

Join Science Department Head Josh Lake and Mathematics Teacher Ellen Browne as they explore a progressive and integrated model of science in this freshman course that links the core disciplines of physics, chemistry, and biology. View design and engineering problems through a scientific lens, developing real solutions to real issues, both on campus and beyond.

The Power of Story

At the heart of this course lies the conviction that the shortest distance between two people is a story. Storytelling is an essential element to understanding, empathy, inclusion, and meaning. Join Chip Lamb, Arts Department Head and Theater Director, and Bobby Fisher, Director of Ethical & Spiritual Education, for an introduction to the work of growing closer as human beings, as we explore where the worlds of art and spirituality meet.

Contemporary International Relations

Join History Department Head Katie Duglin '00 as she examines challenges relating to international politics, economics, trade, security, human rights, public health, and environmental issues in contemporary international relations.

Saturday, May 8
