Cheers and Tears

The Class of 2025 celebrates Senior Week.

Senior Week was filled with cheers and a few tears as the Class of 2025 spent their final days on the Hilltop. Though unseasonably rainy, cloudy, and cold weather lingered throughout the week, the seniors refused to let the gloomy skies dampen their spirits. Instead, they embraced the unexpected with grace, humor, and a deep sense of togetherness — a true testament to their character and camaraderie.

From long-standing traditions to spontaneous celebrations, the week brought excitement and emotion, beginning with the Closing Sundial and Moving Up Ceremonies, which were — fittingly — moved up to Tuesday evening in anticipation of a rainy Thursday. The change in schedule didn’t faze the Class of 2025. They took their place on the Proctor Sundial for their official goodbye hug from the School, then gathered for a sit-down dinner before leading the community into Clark Chapel for the final time as a student body. There, they listened to heartfelt parting words from Head of School Tim Richards and Senior Form Dean Pat Boyd. As they exited the Chapel to cheers — and a few tears — they paused to take photos on the Sundial, as the Moving Up Ceremony continued and underclass students symbolically stepped into their new roles.

Wednesday brought the final official day of classes for the Class of 2025, along with a burst of energy and anticipation as juniors and seniors prepared for prom. They posed for photos outside the Bricks and Chapel before heading off to The Mansion at Bald Hill, stepping into a night bathed in the warm glow of The Golden Hour, this year’s prom theme. With music spun by DJ And2, Saleem Ahmed ’03, they danced the night away — a bright celebration amid a gray week.

On Thursday, the class enjoyed a well-earned Senior Skip Day — negotiated earlier this spring — and spent time packing, relaxing, and savoring their last free day on the Hilltop. That evening, they gathered for the annual Athletic Awards Dinner, celebrating the year’s athletic achievements and applauding one another’s hard work and sportsmanship

The seniors leveled up their Senior Trip at Level99.

The Class of 2025 took their class trip to a new level this year at Level99 in Natick, Massachusetts. Trading the traditional whitewater rafting trip for warm, dry indoor adventures, they tested their mental and physical prowess in more than fifty immersive challenge rooms, competitive duels, and interactive art hunts. Laughter echoed through the space as they worked together, cheered each other on, and savored the joy of one last shared adventure.

Through all the drizzle and gray, the Class of 2025 shone brightly — carrying with them joy, gratitude, and the bond of one unforgettable week.
