Spring is a time of reflection and memories for the Class of 2025.
At the first School Meeting after March Break, School President Sebastian Arreola ’25 offered a poignant reminder: “It is exactly two months until Commencement,” encouraging his fellow seniors to make the most of their time left on the Hilltop.
The spring term for the Class of 2025 is affectionately known as their “senior spring.” While they continue to excel in the classroom, in leadership roles, and on the field, track, and courts, time is at the forefront of their minds. Every passing day brings them closer to the finish line, making each moment more meaningful.
Soon enough, it will be College Sweatshirt Day for the Class of 2025.
Time for new responsibilities. The class is the process of negotiating a new set of privileges. In the past, these perks have included no evening study hall, 24-hour WiFi, and the coveted surfboard table in the dining hall. These earned benefits will give them a glimpse into life at college and allow them more time to spend together.
Time of anticipation. Seniors will decide where they want to go to college and where their academic journey will continue after they leave Hilltop. They will celebrate their decision with College Sweatshirt Day and thank their teachers and advisors who helped them reach this point.
Time of lasts. The spring theater production, dance show, and music showcase is the final opportunity for members of the Class of 2025 to perform on Hard Stage. Each athletic team’s Senior Night will be one of the final times they will wear the Griffin uniform in front of a home crowd.
Each year, the senior class takes a trip down the Deerfield River.
Time for celebration. From the Moving Up Ceremony and the final Sundial Ceremony to prom and the Senior Trip — all during Senior Week — they will enjoy their final days with their classmates. At Athletic Awards Night and Senior Awards, they will reflect on all they accomplished in and out of the classroom.
Time for legacy. The Closing Chapel, Baccalaureate, and Commencement provide time for the Class of 2025 to reflect on the impact they have had on Pomfret before they became members of the alumni community.
"These lasts have really made me appreciate the time I had here. Every time I look somewhere now, I always attach it to a memory," says School Vice President Charmaine Chinodakufa ’25. "I am so happy to be able to celebrate this time with my classmates. It’s been amazing to watch how people have grown and to know they will go out and make such a big difference in the world."
With Commencement creeping closer on the calendar, every moment feels more significant. The Class of 2025 isn’t just counting down the days — they’re making them count, one memory at a time.
