Reunion 2026 did more than reconnect classmates — it celebrated the enduring impact of Pomfret’s alumni and the people who have helped shape the School. The atmosphere on the Hilltop all weekend was unmistakably energized. In fact, when the weather finally turned, not even lightning could dampen the spirit of the celebration.

Alumni from the classes ending in 1s and 6s, along with their families and friends, returned to the place where it all began. Many revisited their old stomping grounds — scoring aces at the Blodgett Tennis Center, getting creative during an art class in the Chick Cole Studio, and staying overnight in the familiar halls of the Bricks.

Alumni explored the changing landscape of the Hilltop by touring VISTA, our new state-of-the-art science building, and marveling at the beautifully renovated Hard Auditorium. They learned about the future of the School under the leadership of Head of School Heather Willis Daly and Board Chair Daryle Bost ’89, who are both wrapping up their first year in their respective positions.

Moments of deep reflection balanced out the weekend's high energy. At the Service of Celebration & Remembrance, moving readings and musical performances honored the classmates we have lost. Later, a panel discussion highlighted the incredible accomplishments of this year’s award winners, including Athletic Hall of Fame inductee John Griswold ’63, S. Prescott B. Clement Cup recipient Deacon Webster ’91, and Olmsted Distinguished Service Award winner Jim Rees P ’98, ’01.

Of course, the absolute highlight of the weekend was the simple joy of catching up. Early arrivers kicked things off Friday evening with pizza, barbecue, dessert, and drinks from local food trucks at the Welcome Celebration. After, the Classes of 2006 and 2016 caught up at the residence of their form dean, Louisa Gebelein Jones P’04. On Saturday, the Class of 1976 gathered for a milestone fiftieth reunion luncheon in Parsons Lodge.

Saturday night delivered the weekend's grand finale.

Following a lively cocktail hour — complete with iconic class photos — and the presentation of alumni awards, the celebration shifted into high gear. Guests packed the dance floor to the sounds of fan-favorite party band Unity. When the rain arrived, the festivities simply moved indoors, filling the Olmsted Student Union and the Bricks with the same enthusiasm and laughter. Outside, a dramatic lightning storm rolled across the Hilltop, providing a fitting end to a weekend defined by connection, energy, and the enduring power of coming home.
