Honoring Excellence

Four alumni recognized at Reunion for service, achievement, and impact.

During Reunion weekend, the Pomfret School Alumni Association honored distinguished alumni for their commitment to Pomfret School and extraordinary contributions to their professions and communities. Each award recognizes a unique form of distinction— from leadership in philanthropy to career achievement and dedicated volunteerism.

The William Beach Olmsted Distinguished Service Award, the School’s highest honor, was presented to Greg Melville ’68 in recognition of his extraordinary service to Pomfret. As chair of the Amplify campaign — the most ambitious in the School’s history — Melville has helped transform the campus through his support of financial aid, faculty development, and infrastructure expansion. A trustee for ten years, he is also Pomfret’s first eight-figure donor and has served in numerous volunteer roles. “In recognizing me with this award, you have placed me among the ranks of the giants of service to Pomfret,” said Melville. “Being asked to serve on the Board of Trustees was an honor of which I have been and continue to be immensely proud.”

Monique Biggs ’99 received the Pomfret School Alumni Award.

Monique Biggs ’99 received the Pomfret School Alumni Award for her professional accomplishments and loyal service to the School. Biggs has supported Project Pomfret, volunteered with the Admission Office, and served as a National Girls and Women in Sports Day guest panelist. Professionally, she is the assistant director of media, public, and community relations at The Hartford Insurance Group, where she leads the company’s national Adaptive Sports Program. “This award is more than a recognition of professional achievement,” she said. “It’s a reflection of the values Pomfret instilled in me: resilience, integrity, and a deep commitment to community.”

Alison Moe ’05 received the Alumni Association Achievement Medal.

For her distinguished legal career, Alison Moe ’05 received the Alumni Association Achievement Medal, which honors alumni who have graduated in the last twenty-five years and demonstrated excellence in their endeavors and service to society. Moe served over seven years as an assistant US attorney in the Southern District of New York, where she was also deputy chief of the Criminal Division. Her work included high-profile cases involving cybercrime, public corruption, and money laundering — most notably the prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Dan Thompson ’95 was awarded the S. Prescott B. Clement Cup.

The Pomfret Advancement Office awarded the S. Prescott B. Clement Cup to Dan Thompson ’95 for his exceptional work as a class agent. Thompson has held this role for twenty-five years, helping the Class of 1995 raise more than $35,000 on Day of Giving alone. He has also served as vice president and secretary of the Alumni Association Executive Council and joined the Board of Trustees in 2023.

Together, these honorees embody the values and spirit of Pomfret School. Their leadership, generosity, and service remind us of the lasting impact one individual can have on a community — and the importance of celebrating those who inspire us to do and be better.
