Pomfret School Campus
In 2021, a rivalry began. The Pomfret Griffins vs. the Millbrook Mustangs, two schools on opposite sides of the same road. Now an annual event, The Battle for Route 44 is one of the biggest days on the school calendar. The daylong tournament includes field hockey, volleyball, soccer, and cross country, culminating in the raising of the Peck-Pulling Trophy, named after the founders of our two schools.

Athletic Hall of Fame Induction
When The Battle for Route 44 is hosted on the Hilltop, the Pomfret Alumni Association recognizes the athletic accomplishments of alumni and other distinguished members of the Pomfret family by inducting them into the Alumni Association Athletic Hall of Fame. This year, John Griswold ’63 will be inducted during a ceremony on the evening of Friday, November 7.
