Lacrosse - Boys Varsity

Over the years, Pomfret Lacrosse has experienced a ton of success competing at the highest levels of prep school lacrosse. We play a variety of schools from different leagues, such as Founders, ISL, Western New England II, and Independent. We end our season playing in a one-day winner take all Colonial League Tournament. Above all else, we aim to build young men of high character ready to lead with kindness and compassion for all. From our film work, Winter Box lacrosse, practices, and how we approach games, we prepare all our athletes to play the next level if they desire.
To be successful, teams must have common goals and shared values. It matters to us more than young men are their best selves in all facets of the community than the results on the field. Leading with compassion, having an open mind to anything, and being willing to help your peers will translate into success in the field. We try to live by these three values every single day.
- Compete
Whether on the field, in the classroom, or in other sports, we want our athletes to stay in the moment and compete to be their best version of themselves no matter what they are doing.
- Stay Humble and Grateful
Although we have experienced much success as a program and as young men, we want our athletes to be grateful for their opportunities here at Pomfret and take nothing for granted. We strive to embrace it whenever we make mistakes and be a better version of ourselves.
- Have Fun
Lacrosse is just a game; more so than that, it is the “creators game.” We want to treat the game with the respect it deserves, have fun, and not worry about the wins and losses but embrace the game for what it is. A chance for our team and family to come together and compete. We believe that with these three core philosophies, we prepare young men to be their best selves at Pomfret but also prepare them for the rigors of being college athletes and just human beings in this world.
