PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Pomfret’s Ultimate program began in the spring of 2024 bringing a dynamic co-ed varsity option to our student-athletes. Competing in the New England Prep School Ultimate League and Connecticut High School Ultimate League, the team blends experienced players with promising newcomers. With a focus on teamwork and sportsmanship, the Ultimate Griffins strive for excellence on the field.

Dylan-Ernst Schäfer
Head CoachDylan-Ernst Schäfer hails from Port Angeles, Washington. He earned a print journalism degree from the University of Southern California with a fine arts minor in photography in 2006. Since, he has taken graduate school classes at Boston University, worked at the Boston Globe and taught students from Oakland to Dallas to the Quiet Corner of Connecticut. For 11 years, Dylan worked just down the road at Marianapolis Preparatory School. He has experience coaching ultimate frisbee, disc golf, soccer, wrestling and tennis. Dylan coparents his daughter Zoë and is looking forward to sharing his passions for the outdoors and sports with the Pomfret community, outside of teaching Humanities II and senior elective English.
