Sarah MacLeodAssistant CoachSarah MacLeod is a ceramics artist and a dedicated educator who has served as the ceramics and sculpture teacher at Pomfret School since 2018. With a passion for art and a deep understanding of the medium, Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role, inspiring and guiding her students in their creative journeys.Sarah's love for ceramics began in college at the University of Tampa, when she discovered the transformative power of clay. She honed her skills and developed her artistic voice through years of practice and exploration. Sarah's own artwork reflects her fascination with nature, organic forms, and the interplay of textures and colors. As an educator, Sarah fosters a creative, nurturing, and inclusive environment in her classroom. She understands that each student possesses their own creative potential and strives to create opportunities for them to express themselves authentically. With her patient and supportive approach, Sarah encourages experimentation, pushing her students to explore new techniques and push the boundaries of their artistic abilities.Sarah's teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that art is not only a means of personal expression but also a powerful tool for self-discovery and growth. She aims to instill in her students a deep appreciation for the process of creation in clay and the value of perseverance. Through hands-on demonstrations, individualized instruction, and collaborative projects, Sarah guides her students on a transformative journey that nurtures their artistic talents and encourages critical thinking.Beyond the classroom, Sarah actively engages in the ceramics community, participating in workshops to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field. She is also a former college athlete (soccer and track), who still loves the game and gives back by coaching. She is currently an assistant varsity soccer and track coach and is just as passionate about both of those programs here on the Hilltop.
She lives on campus with her two children William and Finleigh, and the "farm," which consists of Haggis the golden retriever, Milo the most spoiled guinea pig, and two cats Fergus and Po (short for Pocasset). -
Lindsey NeffAssistant CoachBorn and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Lindsey came to Pomfret from Kenyon College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Art History. During her time at Kenyon, Lindsey participated on the varsity Cross Country and Track teams and acted as an educator for the campus art museum. Here at Pomfret, she continues to follow her passion for running as an assistant coach for both the Cross Country and Track teams. Outside of academics and athletics, Lindsey enjoys reading, hiking, swimming, and visiting art museums. In the summers, she loves to travel to new places (oftentimes to visit new museums!) and to go to the beach.

Sydney StithAssistant CoachOriginally from Montvale, New Jersey, Sydney came to Pomfret after attending Towson University in the Baltimore area. At Towson she studied History and played Division 1 Track and Field. She has always loved history and playing sports so by joining Pomfret she was given the opportunity to do both. Something she hopes to accomplish specifically at Pomfret is encouraging kids to be their very best self. She has an EXTRA large German Shepherd who sadly won’t be staying on the Hilltop with her but will visit often. While she is quite experienced with track she also played Volleyball and Basketball in high school competitively. With that background she was prompted to coach all three of those sports happily. Some of Sydney’s other interest besides sports, are music, movies, trivia, and cooking.
