Tennis – Girls

The girls’ tennis program consists of a varsity and junior varsity team, both of which play a competitive schedule during the spring season. Girls practice four days a week and have match days on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Pomfret boasts six outdoor courts at the Blodgett Tennis Center, resurfaced in the summer of 2023. We are extremely fortunate to have four indoor courts as well, which help with off-season play and on rainy days. Against our WNEPSAA opponents, the varsity plays four singles and 3 doubles with no repeats. Our varsity team is composed of girls from a wide range of tennis backgrounds; our top players compete in tournaments through the summer and seek to play at the college level, whereas our doubles players are typically girls who grew up playing over summers for fun. The coaches strive to develop skill and strategy through the season. Our team’s most important goal is creating a positive team culture, focused on kindness and growth.
