Squash – Girls

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Pomfret Girls Varsity Squash program competes in the highly competitive New England Independent School League and has a strong record of developing players who go on to compete at the collegiate level. Alumni have continued their squash careers at schools including Bates College, Connecticut College, Dickinson College, Mount Holyoke College, and Wesleyan University. Coaches focus on developing complete athletes — emphasizing strength, endurance, agility, coordination, mental toughness, and a strong work ethic. Players are challenged to excel both individually and as part of a team. Pomfret fields a full junior varsity program and offers an instructional program for those new to the sport.

Few schools can match the squash facilities at the Corzine Athletic Center. The Center features eight all-oak, glass-backed international courts with superb gallery viewing for spectators, as well as a full-service snack shop and student center under the same roof. Regarded as one of New England’s premier venues for tournament play, Pomfret has hosted the New England championships for girls and boys numerous times since the Center opened in 2003.
