Soccer – Girls

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Pomfret's Girls Soccer program competes in the forty-five-team Western New England Prep School Soccer Association. Under the leadership of Head Coach Erin Fisher — named Connecticut Prep Coach of the Year in 2024, 2017, and 2009, and United Soccer Coaches Prep Regional Coach of the Year in 2024 and 2017 — the Griffins consistently qualify for post-season play. Highlights include winning the 2024 Class C New England Championship, reaching the Class B New England finals in 2017 and 2009, and capturing the WWNEPSSA League M Championship in 2017 and 2009.

Pomfret plays a rigorous seventeen-game schedule each year, ranking among the toughest in New England. Players routinely earn All-League, All-State, and All-Region honors, including two Griffins named to the United Soccer Coaches’ Scholar All-America teams in 2016 and 2017. Many athletes also compete at club and ECNL levels while at Pomfret, and graduates go on to play collegiate soccer at every level.

Although the team traditionally has a strong core of Connecticut players, the roster draws talent from across the United States and around the world. Competing on a full NCAA-size field, Pomfret’s girls soccer program offers the competitive athlete the opportunity to excel in a highly challenging environment while enjoying a close-knit, small-school experience.
