Andrew Bub
Head Coach
Originally from Albany, NY, Andrew arrived at Pomfret after teaching and coaching three years at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, TN. Andrew earned his Master's in Theological Studies (History, Theology, and Philosophy) from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2022 after earning a bachelor of arts in Theology from Houghton College in 2019. In college, Andrew served three years in residence life and was a four year member of the varsity lacrosse team. He is passionate about holistically educating young people to understand their own stories within the larger context of human history. Outside of the classroom, Andrew is the head coach of the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team and is the goalie coach with the Ice Hockey program. He also coaches club lacrosse with the Top Gun Fighting Clams. In his personal time, Andrew enjoys sports of all kinds, cheering on his hometown teams from New York, and is a big fan of pop culture movies and TV. He lives in Orchard with his wife Tess.
Jake Gabriele
Associate Head Coach
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Jake comes to Pomfret after spending time as an Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where he coached the offense, man-up unit, and goalies. Jake mentored 3 All-American, 5 All-Conference, and 3 All-Region players on offense, as well as the Conference Defensive Player of the Year, 2nd Team All-American, and Centennial Tournament MVP in goal. An extremely successful season for the Red Devils culminated in the program's 6th Centennial Conference Championship and a run to the Quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament. Prior to Dickinson, Jake served as the Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator of the Men's Lacrosse team at Young Harris College, a Division 2 program in Georgia. Jake helped to restart the Lacrosse program at Young Harris and in the program's first year of competition, coached one First and one Second Team All-Conference defensemen. He got his start coaching at Mississippi State University, where he spent two years as the Head Coach of the Club Lacrosse team while in graduate school at MSU. During his tenure as Head Coach, Jake led the Bulldogs to a #13 national ranking, the highest in program history, and his team won the 2020 Deep South Conference championship. Jake attended Shenandoah University, where he was a Goalkeeper on the Men's Lacrosse team, earning two ODAC Academic All-Conference awards; he graduated with a BS in History. At Pomfret, Jake serves as an Assistant Director of Admissions, and is the Associate Head Coach of the Boys' Varsity Lacrosse team. Outside the office and off the field, you can find Jake in the local firehouse, as he is a Firefighter with the Pomfret Volunteer Fire Department, or watching plenty of sports, especially his hometown Baltimore Ravens and Orioles.
