Ice Hockey – Girls
Established in 1975, the Pomfret School girls hockey program has a very rich and successful history. The program has produced Division I and III collegiate players at schools including, but not limited to these schools: Harvard University, Yale University, Boston College, Boston University, University of New Hampshire, University of Maine, University of Wisconsin, Ohio State University, Northeastern University, Amherst College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Hamilton College. Pomfret is also the alma mater of three national team players:Janie Madsen '94(Denmark), Genevieve Richardson ’99 (USA) and two-time Olympic gold medalist Sarah Vaillancourt ’04 (Canada). Most recently, Makenna Newkirk '15 became a member of the 2016 U.S. Women's Under-22 Select Team.
