Field Hockey

A Zimbabwean native, Tanya joined the Pomfret community in 2021, bringing with her a diverse background in academics, athletics, and leadership. Tanya holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Computer Science with Chinese from Trinity College and an MA in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University. Her athletic experience includes a three-year stint on Zimbabwe's junior national field hockey team and it continued at Trinity, where she competed in both field hockey and track and field. At Pomfret School, Tanya serves as Dean of Academics, where she also teaches math and advises students. Her coaching experience includes roles as Head Field Hockey Coach at The Frederick Gunn School and now at Pomfret, where she is eager to foster a supportive and competitive environment for our student-athletes. Tanya is dedicated to holistic education, believing in the importance of both academics and athletics in shaping young individuals.

Tanya’s passions include running, biking, sailing, cooking, and hair braiding. She resides in Eastford with her husband, Henry, their daughters Naledi and Leona, and fur baby, Titus.
