Basketball – Girls

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Girls Varsity Basketball program has a proud tradition of success, highlighted by the Class B New England Championship in 2018. Our student-athletes have gone on to compete at schools including Yale, Xavier, Franklin & Marshall, Mount St. Mary’s, St. Michaels, and Roanoke. The program prioritizes character development through both individual effort and team achievement. Players receive support in honing their skills as they pursue collegiate opportunities, while also being challenged off the court to become student leaders and active community members. The coaching staff seeks passionate, coachable basketball players — prospective leaders and academically driven young women — who are eager to contribute to the Girls Varsity Basketball program.

Coaches

  • Meera Ratté
    Head Coach
Meera is a 2021 graduate of Skidmore College with a B.S. in Management & Business and minor in Sociology. During her time at Skidmore, Meera was a member of the Thoroughbreds women’s basketball team. Prior to joining the admissions team at Pomfret School in 2023, Meera spent one season on the sidelines as an assistant coach for the Amherst College women’s basketball team. A third-generation independent school graduate, Meera understands and has lived with the fantastic impact of independent schools on her life and is grateful to be able to share and help facilitate that experience for families. In addition to her duties as an admissions counselor, Meera is a dorm parent and head coach of the girls varsity basketball team.
  • Maegan Windus
    Assistant Coach
Originally from Western New York, Maegan made her way to New England where she completed her Bachelor's of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from Mount Holyoke College. She participated in the college's Glee Club and Chamber Singers, and conducted organic chemistry research under Dr. Kyle Broaders. After graduation, Maegan stayed at Mount Holyoke as a chemistry laboratory instructor, teaching general, inorganic, and organic chemistry labs. She enjoys working with students to overcome the nerves that often come from learning chemistry, and to promote curiosity and confidence as a learner. Maegan currently teaches Chemistry and Human Anatomy & Physiology. Outside of the classroom, Maegan is an assistant coach for the Cross Country team and the head coach of the Girls' JV Tennis team. During her free time, Maegan enjoys golfing, skiing, reading, and being an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills.
