Basketball – Boys

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Pomfret School Boys Basketball Program is dedicated to developing high-character student-athletes who strive for excellence on and off the court. As a member of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class B, the team consistently competes at a high level, facing top-tier programs such as Canterbury, Rivers, and Brooks, as well as Class A and AA schools including Suffield Academy, Deerfield Academy, Newman School, and Cheshire Academy.

Pomfret has achieved notable success in NEPSAC Class B, qualifying for the NEPSAC Tournament in 2015, 2016, 2020, 2022, and 2025. The program has also been instrumental in helping players advance to collegiate basketball, with alumni competing at NCAA Division I, II, and III institutions. Colleges where graduates have continued their playing careers include:

    •    Sacred Heart University – MAAC, Division I
    •    The Citadel – SoCon, Division I
    •    Longwood University – Big South, Division I
    •    St. Thomas Aquinas – ECC, Division II

    •    Emory University – UAA, Division III
    •    Williams College – NESCAC, Division III
    •    Connecticut College – NESCAC, Division III
