Breath easy.

The after-school yoga program is designed to introduce students to a vinyasa flow practice four days a week. In vinyasa yoga classes, students coordinate movement with breath in order to flow from one pose to the next. Throughout the term, the students are encouraged to try new poses and go deeper into the poses they have already learned. Attention is given to breathwork and meditation at the end of each practice. The goal is to have the students learn techniques that they can take with them into their everyday lives. In addition, every student in the group is expected to spend 2 days a week focusing on a service project, such as running a Red Cross Blood Drive, helping at Riley Rescue Farm, planting at the Palmer Arboretum, working at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, volunteering at TEEG our local social service agency, or preparing and serving meals at Covenant Soup Kitchen.
