Discover Your Passion

A life-long connection to the arts starts here.

At Pomfret, we believe the arts are what make us most human, most complete as people, by helping us see what we are looking at, hear what we are listening to, and feel what we are touching. Making art enriches our lives and gives expression to the innate urgings of the human spirit. All freshmen participate in the yearlong Arts Immersion course, which satisfies one-half of the arts requirement. Students must also take one term of digital arts. The following is the recommended sequence for subsequent years: two as a sophomore, one as a junior, and one as a senior.

Studio

Through the lens of a camera, the stroke of a brush, or the spin of a potter’s wheel, the visual arts communicate what words and number cannot.

Performance

The performing arts are among the oldest and most widely practiced methods of self-expression.

Digital

The digital arts are about tinkering, improving, refining, perfecting — until you arrive at the best possible solution.
