2025 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee
John Griswold ’63 captained the varsity soccer team to Pomfret School’s only undefeated season and also excelled in hockey and baseball, winning the batting title with a .415 average. At Yale, he was a three-year varsity soccer letterman, setting the single-game scoring record (5 goals) and earning All-Ivy and All-New England First Team honors. He was a placekicker for the football team and played hockey and rugby. Off the field, he built a successful career in advertising and finance and is now a senior consultant at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. He is a former Pomfret trustee, serving as board chair from 1993 to 2000.
