Photography
The Photography program offers a comprehensive and dynamic learning experience for students interested in exploring the art and techniques of photography.
THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH A SOLID FOUNDATION in both the technical and creative aspects of photography, while encouraging them to develop their own unique visual voice. Through a combination of hands-on practice, critical analysis, and exposure to diverse photographic styles and genres, students will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this ever-evolving medium.
While students are enrolled in photography courses at Pomfret, students will become adept at using cameras and other photographic equipment, understanding exposure, utilizing different lenses, and mastering lighting techniques. They will also gain proficiency in digital editing software and printing techniques. Students will develop an understanding of visual elements, composition, and aesthetics. They will learn to critically evaluate and discuss photographs, both their own and others', to develop a discerning eye. The program encourages students to explore their own unique perspective and develop their personal artistic voice. They will be challenged to think creatively, experiment with different techniques, and develop their own visual storytelling skills.
