Pomfret serves 350 students in grades 9 through 12 and also offers a post graduate year.

Eighty-five percent are boarders and 15 percent are day students. Twenty-five percent are students of color and 22 percent are international. Thirty-five percent of Pomfret students receive $6 million in need-based financial assistance.

By design Pomfret enrolls a small ninth grade class of 50–60 students to be housed in dormitories along Freshman Circle, then welcomes new students each year to a class of approximately 135 in the senior/post-graduate year.
