Head of School Tim Richards will step down at the end of the 2024–25 school year.

In January, the Pomfret School Board of Trustees announced the formation of the Head of School Search Committee. The committee, comprised of eight trustees, four faculty members, and one staff member, will work with RG175, an executive search firm consisting of former heads of school with deep experience in national independent school leadership searches, to identify Pomfret's thirteenth head of school.

 

 

Finalist Information

Pomfret is pleased to welcome the third of three
head of school finalists to visit the Hilltop this month.

This week, the third head of school finalist will visit Pomfret. Meredith Legg, PhD is the current Associate Head at Emma Willard School, an independent K-12 boarding and day school for girls in Troy, New York. Welcome Meredith!

  • Leadership survey is released.
  • RG175 visits campus to meet with students, faculty, and staff.

FEBRUARY, MARCH, APRIL

  • Position statement is released.
  • RG175 vets and recruits candidates.

MAY AND JUNE

  • Search committee reviews candidates.
  • Finalists are selected.

SEPTEMBER

  • Finalists visit Pomfret.
  • Search committee recommends a new head to the board.

OCTOBER

  • Board approves the recommendation.
  • Pomfret announces its next head of school.

Search Firm

The Head of School Search Committee has selected RG175, a premiere executive search firm, to partner with the search committee. RG175 is staffed by a host of long-serving, successful heads of school with decades of experience conducting successful high-profile national and international searches for independent school leaders. RG175 consultants John Green, Hamilton Clark, and Marcia Prewitt Spiller will co-lead the effort.
