Heather Willis Daly has been selected as Pomfret's 13th head of school. 

Following a rigorous global search that yielded a number of highly qualified school leaders, the Pomfret School Board of Trustees unanimously and enthusiastically endorsed the recommendation of the Head of School Search Committee.

Heather is the current associate head at Laurel School in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and the first female head in Pomfret’s history. She will officially begin her new role on July 1.

Search Firm

The Head of School Search Committee has selected RG175, a premiere executive search firm, to partner with the search committee. RG175 is staffed by a host of long-serving, successful heads of school with decades of experience conducting successful high-profile national and international searches for independent school leaders. RG175 consultants John Green, Hamilton Clark, and Marcia Prewitt Spiller will co-lead the effort.
 

 

Timeline

JANUARY
 

  • Leadership survey was released.
  • RG175 visited campus to meet with students, faculty, and staff.

FEBRUARY, MARCH, APRIL

  • Position statement was released.
  • RG175 vetted and recruited candidates.

MAY AND JUNE

  • Search committee reviewed candidates.
  • Finalists were selected.

SEPTEMBER

  • Finalists visited Pomfret.
  • Search committee recommended a new head to the board.

OCTOBER

  • Board approved the recommendation.
  • Pomfret announced its next head of school.
