At Pomfret, even the sun is within your reach.
Started in 2016, The Helios Project is a passive solar aquaponics greenhouse built and managed by students. Named after the Sun god in Greek mythology, Helios serves to inspire and engage the next generation of environmentally literate and socially aware scientists and engineers. When fully operational, the greenhouse will support student research, and act as a gateway to collaborative projects with local, national, and international partners. It will also supply fresh vegetables to the dining hall and much-needed produce to local food pantries.
